Honeywell has announced it has built the world's most powerful quantum computer and will be rolling it out within three months for client use. It was able to make this breakthrough by deciding to use ion trap technology instead of superconducting quantum chips. Ion traps are slower, but more accurate and hold their quantum state for longer. Honeywell has numerous places to use this technology, as it is a major provider of industrial technology. For example, it is a major provider of environmental controls in demand response applications.
