Seat, part of the Volkswagen Group, will be offering its cloud-based "Car2X " technology in its mid-sized Leon model. Car2X will deliver, for now, advanced warning on upcoming traffic lights and traffic incidents. The Leon employs the VW MQB (Modular Quer Baukasten) Evo platform that allows the integration of the latest ADAS including predictive adaptive cruise control and emergency assist, so this car is going to be positioned for evolution. VW is already working on the integration of V2X and ADAS, as shown by their recently filed patent.
Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication is the passing of information from a vehicle to other entities, such as V2I (vehicle-to-infrastructure), V2N (vehicle-to-network), V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle), V2P (vehicle-to-pedestrian), V2D (vehicle-to-device) and V2G (vehicle-to-grid).
