Sony has received a patent for electric power charging for vehicles and other devices.
Each vehicle would provide its ID to a controller for administering an electric power charging operation, which in turn calculates a tax according to the vehicle making the request for power. This is calculated using the taxing jurisdiction, time spent charging, and the amount of electricity used. By controlling the charging in this way, taxing authorities are able to easily collect tax revenue for use in maintaining roadways and electric power supply.
This is Sony's 2nd patent document in the Energy Financial Settlement sector for EV charging.
