Qualcomm, Audi of America and the Virginia Department of Transportation will be testing pilot C-V2X deployments on Virginia highways in the third quarter of 2020. The studies are designed to show how the technology can be used to improve road safety. The tested features include work zone warnings and traffic signal phase and timing. Qualcomm is working diligently in this space, with at least 19 patents issued-to-date.
