1. A non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions, which, when executed by one or more hardware processors cause operations comprising: (11) (4)

receiving, from a first set of one or more members of a blockchain network, a set of student data;

responsive to receiving the set of student data, updating a distributed ledger in the blockchain network, wherein the distributed ledger is accessible to a student member of the blockchain network using a private key;

receiving, from the student member of the blockchain network, a request to initiate a transaction with a second set of one or more members of the blockchain network that requires access to at least a subset of the student data;

responsive to the request, granting the second set of one or more members access to at least the subset of student data from the distributed ledger.

2. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1, wherein the student member is prevented from editing the subset of the student data on the distributed ledger. (0)

The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1, wherein a particular member in the first set of one or more members is permitted to revoke or remove content from the distributed ledger that was written to the distributed ledger by the particular member; wherein the particular member is prevented from granting access to the content to other members of the blockchain network. 4. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1, wherein the first set of one or more members includes a plurality of members of the blockchain network; wherein each member of the plurality of members maintains a different subset of the student data. (0)

5. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1, wherein the first set of one or more members includes at least one educational institution; wherein the set of student data includes official transcript data provided by the at least one educational institution. (0)

6. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1, wherein the first set of one or more members includes at least one professional institution; wherein the set of student data identifies an award, skill set, or other achievement officially recognized by the professional institution. (0)

7. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1, wherein membership in the blockchain network is restricted to members that have been approved by a set of one or more founding members of the blockchain network. (0)

8. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1, wherein the request to initiate the transaction is a request to transfer credits from one educational institution in the first set of one or more members to another educational institution in the second set of one or more members. (0)

The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1, wherein the request to initiate the transaction is a request to transfer an official academic transcript from an educational institution in the first set of one or more members to an employment institution in the second set of one or more members. 10. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1, wherein the first set of one or more members have access to a public key that pairs with the private key; wherein the public key allows the first set of one or more members to write student data to the distributed ledger. (0)

The non-transitory computer readable media of claim 1, the operations further comprising: accessing the student data by an application uses the private key for the student member; wherein the application displays a graphical user interface that allows the student member to interact with applications on the blockchain network and initiate different types of transactions on the blockchain network; wherein the request to initiate the transaction is received through the graphical user interface of the application; wherein request causes a REST-based endpoint to invoke a blockchain program deployed on one or more nodes in the blockchain network. 13. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1, further comprising generating a package of student data written to the distributed ledger by different members of the blockchain network. (0)

14. A non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions, which, when executed by one or more hardware processors cause operations comprising: (5) (4)

receiving, from a first member of a blockchain network, program code that updates a state of a distributed ledger as a function of student data, wherein the program code may be invoked by transactions in the blockchain network;

deploying the program code on a set of peer nodes within the blockchain network;

receiving, from an application, a request to perform a transaction within the blockchain network, wherein the transaction invokes the program code and identifies a particular set of student data;

responsive to receiving the request, updating, by the invoked program code, the state of the distributed ledger in the blockchain network based on the particular set of student data.

The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 14, wherein the program code determines, based on the particular set of student data, one or more of (a) a best match employer, educational institution, or curriculum for a student member of the blockchain network based on one or more student attributes identified in the student data; (b) how to transfer credits earned at one educational institution to another educational institution; or (c) whether the student satisfies a particular skill set. (0)

16. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 14, wherein the program code grants credits to a student member of the blockchain network. (0)

17. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 14, wherein the program code matches curriculum with a set of criteria defined by one or more employers that are members of the blockchain network. (0)

18. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 14, wherein the program code is chaincode that implements logic agreed to by a plurality of members of the blockchain network. (0)

19. The non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 14, wherein the particular student data includes official data from a plurality of institutions that are members of the blockchain. (0)

one or more hardware processors;

one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions, which, when executed by one or more hardware processors cause:

receiving, from a first set of one or more members of a blockchain network, a set of student data;

responsive to the request, granting the second set of one or more members access to at least the subset of student data from the distributed ledger.
