1. A method comprising, (4) (2)

generating a first grid telemetry fingerprint based on characteristics of an electrical grid; and

verifying a transaction based on the first grid telemetry fingerprint and a second grid telemetry fingerprint associated with the transaction.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the characteristics include at least one of voltage, a phase angle difference, reactive power, and change in grid inertia. (0)

3. The method of claim 1, wherein verifying the transaction includes rejecting the transaction if the first grid telemetry fingerprint and the second grid telemetry fingerprint do not match. (1) (0)

5. The method of claim 1, wherein generating the first grid telemetry fingerprint includes generating a hash of the characteristics of the electrical grid. (0)

6. The method of claim 1, wherein verifying the transaction is part of a process by which the transaction is entered into a distributed ledger. (0)

7. A non-transitory computer storage medium encoded with computer program instructions that when executed by one or more computers cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising: (4) (2)

generating a first grid telemetry fingerprint based on characteristics of an electrical grid; and

verifying a transaction based on the first grid telemetry fingerprint and a second grid telemetry fingerprint associated with the transaction.

8. The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 7, wherein the characteristics include at least one of voltage, a phase angle difference, reactive power, and change in grid inertia. (0)

9. The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 7, wherein verifying the transaction includes rejecting the transaction if the first grid telemetry fingerprint and the second grid telemetry fingerprint do not match. (1) (0)

11. The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 7, wherein generating the first grid telemetry fingerprint includes generating a hash of the characteristics of the electrical grid. (0)

12. The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 7, wherein verifying the transaction is part of a process by which the transaction is entered into a distributed ledger. (0)

13. A system comprising: (5) (4)

one or more computers and one or more storage devices storing instructions that are operable, when executed by the one or more computers, to cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:

generating a first grid telemetry fingerprint based on characteristics of an

electrical grid; and

verifying a transaction based on the first grid telemetry fingerprint and a second grid telemetry fingerprint associated with the transaction.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein the characteristics include at least one of voltage, a phase angle difference, reactive power, and change in grid inertia. (0)

15. The system of claim 13, wherein verifying the transaction includes rejecting the transaction if the first grid telemetry fingerprint and the second grid telemetry fingerprint do not match. (1) (0)

17. The system of claim 13, wherein generating the first grid telemetry fingerprint includes generating a hash of the characteristics of the electrical grid. (0)
