Quantum Computing

Intel

In 2015, Intel established a collaborative relationship with QuTech, based in the Netherlands, to accelerate advancements in quantum computing. The collaboration spans the entire quantum system — or “stack” — from qubit devices to the hardware and software architecture required to control these devices as well as quantum applications. Intel currently has a 49-qubit process, "Tangle Lake," which QuTech is testing. The Tangle Lake processor uses 108 RF connectors that carry microwave signals into the chip to operate the qubits. The 49 qubits are made of niobium and each qubit has two quantum mechanical tunnels.
