Distributed And Blockchain-based Student Academic Ledger Systems And Methods

Techniques for generating and maintaining a student academic ledger are disclosed. In some embodiments, student data is received from a first set of one or more members of a blockchain network. In response, one or more distributed ledgers are updated in the blockchain network. The distributed ledgers are accessible to a student member of the blockchain network using a private key. The blockchain network receives requests from the student member to initiate a transaction with a second set of one or more members that requires access to at least a subset of the student data. Responsive to the request, the second set of one or more members are granted access to at least the subset of the student data from at least one distributed ledger.

3 Independent Claims

  • 1. A non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions, which, when executed by one or more hardware processors cause operations comprising: receiving, from a first set of one or more members of a blockchain network, a set of student data; responsive to receiving the set of student data, updating a distributed ledger in the blockchain network, wherein the distributed ledger is accessible to a student member of the blockchain network using a private key; receiving, from the student member of the blockchain network, a request to initiate a transaction with a second set of one or more members of the blockchain network that requires access to at least a subset of the student data; responsive to the request, granting the second set of one or more members access to at least the subset of student data from the distributed ledger.

  • 14. A non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions, which, when executed by one or more hardware processors cause operations comprising: receiving, from a first member of a blockchain network, program code that updates a state of a distributed ledger as a function of student data, wherein the program code may be invoked by transactions in the blockchain network; deploying the program code on a set of peer nodes within the blockchain network; receiving, from an application, a request to perform a transaction within the blockchain network, wherein the transaction invokes the program code and identifies a particular set of student data; responsive to receiving the request, updating, by the invoked program code, the state of the distributed ledger in the blockchain network based on the particular set of student data.

  • 20. A system comprising: one or more hardware processors; one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions, which, when executed by one or more hardware processors cause: receiving, from a first set of one or more members of a blockchain network, a set of student data; responsive to receiving the set of student data, updating a distributed ledger in the blockchain network, wherein the distributed ledger is accessible to a student member of the blockchain network using a private key; receiving, from the student member of the blockchain network, a request to initiate a transaction with a second set of one or more members of the blockchain network that requires access to at least a subset of the student data; responsive to the request, granting the second set of one or more members access to at least the subset of student data from the distributed ledger.
