Kureha Corporation is a Japanese manufacturer of specialty chemicals, polymers and agrichemicals. Kureha has developed a mass scale manufacturing technique for polyglycolic acid (PGA), a biodegradable polymer, and opened a production plant at Belle, West Virginia, with a capacity of 4000 annual metric tons. A high molecular weight polyglycolide for food packaging applications is commercialized under the tradename of Kuredux.
