General Motors (GM) has received its first patent in the Cryptocurrency Sector. The patent describes a process for embedding blockchain information into digital images.
The process begins with an event detected by a vehicle, using vehicle electronics, and sending the event data to a blockchain domain server. The blockchain domain server sends a blockchain hash to the vehicle by embedding the blockchain hash within vision data stored within the vehicle. This process is especially useful for autonomous vehicle operation, enabling a vehicle to securely capture roadway features, weather conditions, traffic conditions, and other autonomous vehicle operations.
GM's latest patent arrives on the heels of another blockchain-related patent application for a decentralized digital map, which GM plans to integrate into its autonomous vehicles.
