AI Biotech/Diagnostics: Other Innovation Patent Forecast®

February 20, 2020

Analytics 4 Life, founded in Toronto, is a medical technology startup rethinking how we diagnose and image cardiac disease using AI. Initially focused on coronary artery disease and pulmonary hypertension, the company has now raised about $29 million across three rounds, has three offices around the world, and is growing quickly. With a radiation-free system, the company provides point of care results for cardiac diagnoses.

Analytics 4 Life was recently granted two patents and had another application published, bringing their count to 6 issued and 18 total documents in the AI Biotech sector. Their recently issued patents teach analysis of a biopotential signal collected from a single electrode with machine learning in order to create a multi-dimensional phase-space representation of the heart. This information is useful in diagnosing some pathologies.

Announced in June, the company is one of the first companies involved in Johnson & Johnson's JLabs @ Shanghai. This location is the world's largest JLabs yet and can support over 50 life sciences startups across medical device, pharmaceutical, consumer, and health tech segments.
