FitnessGenes is a digital health startup founded in 2013. Aimed at the recent growth in biohackers and individuals spending more money on fitness, the company uses DNA sampling to provide personalized training plans. In 2017, the company filed its first patent application, which was recently published. The activity component of the AI biotech sector has been dominated by wearables, so FitnessGenes' application provides increased diversity. 

The company underwent a $5 million Series A funding round in 2017 after a few seed rounds. They have multiple academic collaborations with UK universities such as Loughborough and Birmingham, as well as partnerships with other popular DNA testing companies including 23andMe and AncestryDNA
