Synbra enters biodegradable packaging

Biodegradable Packaging Patent Forecast®

July 18, 2019

Synbra Technology, a member of Synbra group, is a chemicals and materials manufacturing company based out of the Netherlands. The company is known for the manufacturing of Styrex® Airpop beads (Expandable polystyrene), BioFoam® (Expandable Polylactic acid) and other PLA Compounds. While PLA has long been known to be useful in biodegradable materials and they have been manufacturing BioFoam® since 2009, Synbra recently filed their first patent application having to do specifically with biodegradable packaging.

This move to biodegradable packaging is not surprising. Synbra Technology has a long established corporate responsibility policy and sources sustainable raw materials. Further, Synbra group as a whole has long played a role in the packaging market in Europe, so it is is only natural to combine these ideas.
