Fortune Global 500 consulting firm Accenture recently applied for a patent to use machine learning in individual monitoring. The device identifies habits of individuals to look for deviations from the norm, as well as provide support in activities. This may be used for medical diagnoses and health risk assessments. Last month, Accenture and Stockholm Exergi announced a collaborative project called Memory Lane intended to combat elderly loneliness. The companies are using commonly found smart speakers and artificial intelligence to talk to the elderly and capture their stories. There is hope that this may also help fend off declines in mental and physical health in the world’s rapidly aging population.
