Electric airplanes have many advantages over combustion-powered planes, including being quiet (not just quieter), pollution-free, 60% greater energy efficiency, and greater stability in turbulence. Many companies are pursuing electric flight, including Boeing, Airbus, Google, Uber and Amazon. H55 recently received its first US patent for battery management systems and also just received Silicon Valley investment to help it continue development of key technologies for this sector, which it intends to make available to other manufacturers. H55 is a spin-off of the Solar Impulse Foundation founded by Andre Borschberg and Bertrand Piccard, who built and flew the solar-powered electric airplane, Solar Impulse 2, around the world.
A battery charge equalizer provides individual cell charging in multi-cell battery strings in order to maintain all the cells at the same charge. Keeping all the cells in a multi-cell string at the same charge state maximizes the battery's life and performance. Equalization techniques require electrical circuitry to achieve cell monitoring and balancing.
