CurAegis (formerly Torvec) launched its myCadian app in 2018, which integrates with Fitbit to measure tiredness in real-time and predict fatigue. The myCadian app predicts when alertness will decline throughout the day. In an SEC filing on March 18, 2019, the company revealed that updates to the app and API are scheduled for March 23, 2019, which should allow integration with other sensors, including Apple and Polar. The company anticipates that these updates will allow organizations to integrate their technology into existing safety, wellness, or administrative technologies.
CurAegis was granted a patent this week for an alertness prediction system and method. The company appears to be focusing its patent strategy on international protection, and there has not been significant activity in expanding its relatively small US portfolio, unlike many of its competitors and partners.
