Avantium has retaken full ownership of its YXY plants-to-plastics technology through the purchase of BASF’s shares in the Synvina joint venture. Avantium developed the YXY technology to catalytically convert plant-based sugars into PEF (polyethylenefuranoate), an environmentally friendly packaging material.
