With the growing use of residential solar panels, people's perceptions and communities' regulations are changing. A town in New York and a city in Illinois have recently agreed to ease regulations on property owners installing solar energy systems in their homes. Both communities achieved this by allowing people to install solar panels without having to seek approval from their respective local administrative agencies. On the other hand, a town in New Hampshire and a town in Pennsylvania have recently introduced new regulations that pose as barriers to the installation of residential solar panel arrays. These include size and wattage limitations as well as fees and technical requirements.
