Samsung is no stranger to the energy sector. Currently, Samsung supports a number of energy technologies including solar, wind, and energy storage. In addition, Samsung offers utility, industrial, and community energy solutions.
With its recently issued patent for proximity control using a WiFi connection, Samsung is hoping to give users proximity control of any energy device. From smart energy devices to energy substations, users would be in complete wireless control of their energy operations. Integration with Samsung's current smart home solutions is likely. Current operations are limited to controlling lights, appliances, and power outlets. This addition would greatly expand upon this functionality, enabling users to be in complete control of their energy consumption and habits.
