Siemens entered the residential battery storage market last month by launching its new Junelight Smart Battery. The product coordinates its predictive charging and discharging procedures based on weather-related yield forecasts for the connected solar PV system and the individual consumption profile of the household. Siemens is already invested in other energy markets such as renewable energy and utility storage, and patent data show that it is also innovating in the space of electric vehicles.
