2. A wearable electronic device, comprising: (5) (3)

a plurality of biometric sensors, one or more of the biometric sensors configured to generate biometric data indicative of a user's sleep stage;

one or more processors coupled to the one or more of the biometric sensors; and

a non-transitory machine readable storage medium coupled to the one or more processors and having stored therein instructions, which when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to: receive the biometric data from the one or more of the biometric sensors,

determine a plurality of statistical feature values based on the biometric data received from the one or more of the biometric sensors,

determine an activity level for each of a plurality of periods of time based on the determined statistical features,

classify each of the periods of time into one of a plurality of sleep stages based on the activity levels for the corresponding periods of time, and

store the sleep stages for the classified periods of time for display to the user.

the one or more biometric sensors comprise one or more photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors configured to generate PPG data indicative of a user's heart rate, and

the instructions, which when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to determine the statistical features values by determining a rolling median or a rolling average of the PPG data.

11. A method executed by a wearable electronic device, the method comprising: (2) (5)

receiving biometric data from a plurality of biometric sensors, one or more of the biometric sensors configured to generate biometric data indicative of a user's sleep stage;

determining a plurality of statistical feature values based on the biometric data received from the one or more of the biometric sensors;

determining an activity level for each of a plurality of periods of time based on the determined statistical features;

classifying each of the periods of time into one of a plurality of sleep stages based on the activity levels for the corresponding periods of time; and

storing the sleep stages for the classified periods of time for display to the user.

17. A computer readable storage device that includes instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to: (2) (5)

receive biometric data from a plurality of biometric sensors, one or more of the biometric sensors configured to generate biometric data indicative of a user's sleep stage;

determine a plurality of statistical feature values based on the biometric data received from the one or more of the biometric sensors;

determine an activity level for each of a plurality of periods of time based on the determined statistical features;

classify each of the periods of time into one of a plurality of sleep stages based on the activity levels for the corresponding periods of time; and

store the sleep stages for the classified periods of time for display to the user.

18. The computer readable storage device of claim 17, wherein: (0) (2)
