Sony produces the Playstation series of game consoles and the related Playstation VR headset. Sony is also a publisher of games that make use of 3D rendering technology that would likely be used for Metaverse platforms. In June 2021, Sony invested $250 million in Epic Games to promote Epic's development of a Metaverse. In February 2022, Sony announced a partnership with Manchester City to develop a virtual version of Etihad Stadium.
