Nike

Nike is the world’s largest provider of athletic shoes and gear. Founded in 1964 as Blue Ribbon Sports, the Oregon-based company makes more than just shoes, sponsoring athletes and promoting slogans like “Just Do It.” While Nike started out its earlier career acquiring companies, it has since moved into divesting some of these subsidiaries, including Cole Haan in 2013 and Umbro in 2012; however, the company has maintained its authority over Converse and Hurley International, acquired in 2003 and 2002, respectively. Nike holds the biggest share in this sector, with almost quadruple the number of documents in comparison to the next highest company, with applications and patents across all subsets.
