Founded in 2017, New York based Templum's broker-dealer subsidiary "Templum Markets" is a blockchain-enabled, regulated marketplace for the primary sale and secondary trading of digital assets. They are notably active in advancing the regulatory side. For example, they petitioned the SEC to provide clarity around the issue of mining activity on the blockchain as it relates to digital securities transactions, and also partnered with MIAX and Symbiont to ensure their digital asset technology is compliant. With an initial patent application filed at the company's inception and a larger salvo filed in 2019, Templum is actively pursuing becoming a key player in introducing blockchain to the securities market.
