UniEnergy is focused on methods for managing gas content and charge in batteries. The company, founded in 2012 by former U.S. Department of Energy researchers at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, secured $25 million in funding in 2015 for its containerized vanadium flow batteries. In 2016, it partnered with Chinese manufacturing group Rongke Power to develop a large scale vanadium flow battery in China.
