Grid4C has been selected as one of Israel’s most promising start-ups according to TheMarker magazine. Founded in Tel Aviv in 2013 by Noa Ruschin-Rimini, Grid4C now has substantial operations based in Austin, TX. The start-up's website describes its mission as “develop[ing] AI and Machine Learning solutions to extract maximum business value out of smart meters and IoT data.” Currently, Grid4C has a pending application for “a method for optimizing and predicting demand response” in which it claims, for instance, “pre-processing data of a control group of households … responsively creating a forecast model of consumption of each controlled appliance” and “determining, based on the forecast model, a control plan.” In order to see the full recited independent claims of this application, check out this Patent Forecast.
Earlier this year, Grid4C announced a collaboration with Itron for installing AI-analytics into smart meters for power grids, while in July, it began a collaboration with Trilliant Networks to bring AI to Trilliant’s Smart Grids. Grid4C may continue to grow in its influence in bringing artificial intelligence to smart grids over the coming months and years.
