Vapor IO, founded in 2015, is focused on providing micro date centers at the edge, generally at the base of cell towers. The Vapor Chamber is the company's enclosed IT enclosure and the focus of much of its IP, along with blockchain platforms. In February 2019, Vapor IO launched the Edge Access Program and partnered with Packet to place two new edge sites in Chicago. In May 2019, Vapor IO announced direct connection from edge containers to Amazon Web Services via Cloud Castle's Cloud Connect fiber network.
