Monticello Enterprises LLC (Monticello) is creating an online shopping experience with cryptocurrency support. The end goal: reduce shopper friction when shoppers transition from searching for products to a merchant or social network.
How would this be implemented? By building new APIs and processes directly into browsers and browsing software on user devices. Users would be able to easily transition from shopping to purchasing, without having to share payment data with merchants, reducing the need for users to continuously share their credit card data across a large number of sites, further increasing security risks associated with online shopping.
With cryptocurrency support, Monticello is creating a true peer-to-peer payment process. Shopping would no longer require an intervening service to process transactions. Instead, the appropriate keys, tokens, or payment data is exchanged using new APIs and processes managed between browsers and websites.
