Wilmington, NC’s Marpac, a specialist in sleep sound technology since 1962, is now Yogasleep after their acquisition of mattress producer Yogabed in January 2018. The rebranding to Yogasleep has already begun, with all new products and their website displaying the new brand. Marpac intends on offering more than sound products in the consumer sleep technology sector, planning to roll out nearly 20 new products in 2020.
Marpac products are sold in large retail locations with their main revenue coming from Bed Bath & Beyond, according to WilmingtonBiz. Yogabed’s mattresses and pillows will be added to the Yogasleep line of products which includes sound machines, scent diffusers and bed linens.
Marpac filed an application (16/268,771) for a sound emitting device February of this year taking priority from a design patent (D847373) filed in August 2016. These were the only published patent documents for Marpac. Yogabed did not appear to have any patents published at the time this was published.
