Panasonic, the Japanese multinational electronics corporation, was founded as a manufacturer of lightbulb sockets and has grown to become much, much more. While the company has continued to file for light technologies, their filings relating light to sleep have been sporadic in the past. However, that seems to be changing. The company was recently issued its third patent in the Consumer Sleep Technology sector this year, and has filed seven applications since the beginning of 2018. This trend suggests Panasonic has recognized the growth of this industry, and may be looking to use their manufacturing capabilities to stake out a position in it. Even with this position, Panasonic has not had any major product releases in the space, but one could assume that something is coming soon.
