Formerly Ploom, Pax Labs was created in 2017 as Juul Labs spun out of the Ploom company to handle nicotine alternatives while Pax focuses on cannabis. Pax branded products were released under the Ploom company name before the change in 2017. Pax Labs has dodged the negative attention that Juul has received for enabling minor smokers and built an extensive portfolio of cannabis vaporizer patents.
