Denso Corporation is a global automotive components manufacturer headquartered in Kariya, Japan. Denso is a part of the Toyota Group, and has many of its own subsidiaries, including NSITEXE Inc., which develops and markets semiconductor products that are key components in automated driving technology. RICOH Industrial Solutions Inc. has developed an on-board stereo camera together with Denso that utilizes dense stereo matching technology for the automotive industry and its rapidly growing self-driving technological needs, and mass production has been ongoing since 2017. In 2019, Denso and Toyota agreed to establish a joint venture for research and advanced development of next-generation, in-vehicle semiconductors, with a focus on components such as periphery monitoring sensors. Also, TomTom announced that it has partnered with Denso to incorporate its HD map to work in combination with Denso’s in-vehicle sensors such as cameras and radars to power the localization, perception and path planning functions for a complete autonomous driving system.
