Headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, Mobileye is an Intel subsidiary that develops vision-based advanced driver-assistance systems providing warnings for collision prevention and mitigation. Mobileye holds a market share of more than 70% and is using the latest techniques in both Artificial Intelligence and deep learning to deploy 360-degree surround-view mono-vision sensing, to build high-definition, crowd-sourced maps, and to provide vehicles with the human-like intelligence required to negotiate complex driving situations. Tesla used to utilize Mobileye’s technology in their Model S in 2015, but after the first deadly crash with active Autopilot, Mobileye announced the end of its partnership with Tesla. In 2017, BMW, Intel, and Mobileye partnered to bring autonomous driving technology to the market.
