Microsoft artificial intelligence (AI) technology is based on 6 core principles: fairness, reliability and safety, privacy & security, inclusiveness, transparency, and accountability. In addition to its own AI developments, Microsoft participated in a number of AI-specific collaborations including the Partnership on AI, the Center for Brains, Minds, and Machines (CBMM), Carnegie Mellon University's Machine Learning Department (CMU MLD) and the Language Technologies Institute (LTI), the Amsterdam Machine Learning Lab (AMLAB), and the Open Neural Network Exchange (ONNX) partnership with Facebook.
A number of AI products and services have been developed through Microsoft AI, launched 2 years ago. Microsoft AI is the first time Microsoft has created a business, marketing, and product management team associated with Microsoft Research.
