This past week, Microsoft had a fresh application publish in the AI Biotech/Diagnostic sector. The application (U.S. pat. app. 20200242964), teaches a method of utilizing AI-Chatbots to provide diet assistance to a user in a session. AI-Chatbots themselves are not a new invention. In fact, they have been around since as early as the 1960s. However, '2964 is the first example of a chatbot being used to provide dietary recommendations.
The bot has numerous functions that can be used to provide dietary support to customers. First, a user provides relevant health information to the bot, such as age, weight, and dietary goals. Once set up, the customer can make requests to the bot such as "I am hungry and want something sweet. Do you have any recommendations?" The chatbot will then look for recipes to create dishes that fit into the health goals of the consumer. After the consumer makes a decision on the desired dish, the chatbot provides step- by-step recipe instructions in a humanly tone.
Microsoft is not a stranger within the AI Biotech/Diagnostic sector. In the past 10 years, the company has built a portfolio with 23 patent documents in the sector.
