Born out of Yale University's Psychiatry department, Spring Health is a comprehensive mental health benefit program for employers. The company aims to help employees understand medical health issues and connect with providers, in the long run reducing recovery times and healthcare costs while improving the well-being of employees.
Founded in 2016, Spring Health recently had its first patent application published. While the company aims to have a wider reach than depression, the application teaches methods and systems for providing a treatment recommendation for a patient having a depression disorder. This includes providing patients with a questionnaire and using machine learning to process the questionnaire in order to make a treatment recommendation.
Spring Health's system facilitates a psychiatrist's challenge of selecting an effective antidepressant medication or other medication regimen that can make a difference for a patient. Current clients include GAP, Whole Foods, Equinox, and Box. In January, the company announced the completion of a $22 million Series A round led by Northzone, Equinox Ventures and Able Partners.
In light of the pandemic and the transition to working from home for many people, it is as important as ever to check in on everyone's mental health.
