Philips, one of the top patent holders in the AI Biotech/Diagnostics sector, announced on 5/2/2019 that Netherlands-based telehealth startup Chipmunk Health will be utilizing Philips' HealthSuite digital platform in its new GP-to-patient home monitoring solutions. The platform uses AI to connect multiple home monitoring devices, aggregate the acquired data via a dedicated smart hub, and securely transmit, store, and analyze it. Philips' recent patent documents, in fact, include applications for monitoring patients by gathering visual, audio, odor, and other forms of physiological data. It will be interesting to see how Chipmunk Health will leverage this technology to grow its business, as it is currently not present in the AI Biotech/Diagnostics sector.
