October 22, 2020

Energy technology company REstore NV was recently issued U.S. Patent No. 10,804,702 entitled, “Self-organizing demand-response system” for a more decentralized control system for smart grids. Patent ‘702 discloses a peer-to-peer system for managing grid operations for a pool of energy devices. Serving customers in the U.S. and Europe, REstore NV was acquired by Centrica plc in November 2017. REstore NV manages a peak load of 1.7GW for a variety of customers in Europe. U.S. competitors in the space include Causam Enterprises, Battelle Memorial Institute, and IBM among others.
