Novamont has developed a new grade of Mater-Bi for extrusion coating and extrusion lamination on paper, board and other substrates that are compostable. This new grade is an improvement in the process stability, coating thicknesses, the processing speed (comparable with low density polyethylene) and the adhesion to different substrates. Articles using this new grade are considered GMO-free, biodegradable, and can be recycled along with waste paper. 

With this improvement, Novamont demonstrates its continued investment in the biodegradable packaging sector. Novamont leads all other assignees with 29 documents since 2018 in the biodegradable packaging sector.
