NeuroPlus has been betting since 2011 that it can train your brain to concentrate better with just a few sessions a week. The Durham, NC based company has developed a brain-training device for individuals with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to improve their ability to concentrate, and recently had a first patent application that includes using AI published.

The NeuroPlus headset uses electroencephalogram (EEG) sensors to detect activity in the brain, which is used to input in specific games that require a player to concentrate in order to complete tasks. Neuroplus collaborated with Duke University and Stanford University in a ten week clinical trial in 2016 that showed NeuroPlus improved kid’s abilities across many areas, including attention and self-control.

In 2017, NeuroPlus ran a successful Kickstarter campaign in which 516 backers pledged $138,967 to bring the headset to market. In addition to selling the headsets, the company now offers a subscription to the training service.
