Biodegradable Packaging Patent Forecast®

Researchers at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU) are turning durian husks into biodegradable packaging materials.  The researchers are extracting the pectin from durian husks by grinding and shredding them to produce a cellulose powder. The powder is then used to create sheets of biodegradable material.  It is unclear whether there is any residual smell.
